About this job

At edyn.care we’re on a mission to modernise live-in care, so people can live happily and safely at home, on their own terms. Founded with a belief that care can be done better, we combine exceptional carers, thoughtful operations and powerful technology to deliver a better experience for clients and families. We are proud to be rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission. We’re growing and looking for exceptional people to help us build what outstanding care should look like in the 21st century. Overview We are looking for a compassionate, organised and commercially aware Live-in Care Assessor to join our Sales team as our specialist in onboarding new clients. You will take ownership of the care assessment and preparation needed to start a new live-in care package safely. You’ll understand each client’s needs, wishes and home environment; create person-centred care plans and risk assessments; complete the required documentation; and work with colleagues to identify a suitable professional carer. You will also attend Care Management meetings and act as the link between the Sales and Care Management teams. By sharing clear assessments, emerging risks, client preferences and the reasons behind each proposed package, you’ll help colleagues prepare for the start of care and take over with confidence. This role suits someone who enjoys meeting clients and families, making sound care decisions, and turning a promising enquiry into a well-planned, safe service. 🚀 What Success Looks Like 6–12 Month Outcomes • New clients receive timely, thorough and person-centred assessments. • Every new package starts with an accurate care plan, relevant risk assessments and complete documentation. • Proposed care arrangements reflect the client’s needs, preferences and the practical realities of live-in care. • Carer matches are informed by care needs, skills, experience, personality and client preferences. • Sales and Care Management have a shared understanding of each new package before care begins. • Risks, safeguarding concerns and suitability issues are identified early and escalated appropriately. • Handover information is clear, complete and useful to the team managing ongoing care. • Clients and families feel informed, listened to and confident about the start of care. Top Priorities • Learn edyn.care’s assessment, onboarding, care planning and safeguarding processes. • Build strong working relationships across Sales, Care Management, Care Coordination and Quality Assurance. • Understand how new packages move from enquiry through assessment, matching, start of care and handover. • Produce clear, practical care plans and risk assessments that carers can follow. • Become confident using edyn.care’s systems, including the web portal, Slack, Airtable, Google Drive and Spark. First 90 Days 30 days • Shadow assessments, onboarding conversations and Care Management meetings. • Learn the required documentation and standards for starting a new package. • Build relationships with the teams involved in sales, matching and care delivery. • Become comfortable recording information accurately across internal systems. 60 days • Lead new client assessments with appropriate support. • Draft care plans and risk assessments that reflect each client’s needs and desired outcomes. • Contribute to carer matching discussions and prepare structured package handovers. • Identify concerns that could affect whether or how a package can safely start. 90 days • Take ownership of the assessment and care documentation for new packages. • Complete onboarding work within agreed timeframes and follow through on outstanding actions. • Present new packages clearly in Care Management meetings. • Demonstrate effective handovers and contribute ideas to improve the onboarding experience. 🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing New Client Assessments • Carry out assessments with prospective clients and their families, in person or virtually as appropriate. • Understand the client’s health, daily routines, abilities, preferences, goals and support network. • Assess the home environment and the practical requirements of a live-in care arrangement. • Gather relevant information from family members and professionals, with appropriate consent. • Identify changes in need, risks or expectations that affect the proposed package. • Explain the assessment and onboarding process clearly and sensitively to clients and families. Care Planning, Risk and Documentation • Create person-centred care plans with clear instructions, outcomes and client preferences. • Complete relevant risk assessments, including areas such as mobility, falls, medication, nutrition and the home environment. • Make sure care plans and risk controls are practical for the carer delivering support. • Complete and maintain the documentation required before a package starts. • Record information accurately and promptly in edyn.care’s systems. • Escalate safeguarding concerns, gaps in information or risks that require management review. Carer Matching and Package Preparation • Work with Care Coordination and Care Management to identify carers whose skills, experience and approach suit the client. • Share the information needed to make a thoughtful match, including routines, communication preferences and household expectations. • Highlight any training, competency or support needs before a carer starts. • Check that the proposed package and match are suitable before the start of care. • Help resolve outstanding onboarding actions and keep relevant colleagues informed of progress. Sales and Care Management Link • Work within the Sales team to provide care expertise throughout the new client journey. • Attend Care Management meetings and present new packages, key risks, agreed outcomes and open actions. • Prepare a clear handover so the ongoing Care Management team understands the client, family, carer match and care arrangements. • Respond to questions from colleagues and close documentation gaps before handover. • Share feedback from new packages to improve assessments, matching and the client experience. Safeguarding and Continuous Improvement • Recognise and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with company policy. • Raise concerns when a proposed package cannot safely meet a client’s needs without further action or support. • Keep assessment and onboarding processes aligned with edyn.care’s quality standards and relevant care requirements. • Use feedback from clients, carers and colleagues to improve how new packages are prepared and handed over. 📈 Key Measures of Performance • Timely completion of new client assessments. • Quality and completeness of care plans, risk assessments and onboarding documentation. • Number of packages ready to start within agreed timeframes. • Outstanding actions identified and resolved before the start of care. • Quality of carer matching information and feedback on initial matches. • Completeness and usefulness of handovers to Care Management. • Risks and safeguarding concerns identified and escalated appropriately. • Feedback from new clients, families, carers and internal teams. • Improvements made to the onboarding process. ⚠️ What Won’t Work • Rushing an assessment or overlooking a concern to meet a start date. • Care plans that are generic, unclear or difficult for a carer to use. • Incomplete documentation or unresolved risks at handover. • Working in isolation rather than keeping Sales and Care Management aligned. • Reluctance to have honest conversations when a proposed package needs to change. 🧪 Interview Process • Initial screening • Leadership interview • Case study or scenario-based assessment • Final interview with senior leadership Additional Information Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check for working with adults. It is a criminal offence for a person barred from working in regulated activity under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 to apply for a role requiring them to work unsupervised with that group. Requirements Must-Have • The right to work in the UK. • Experience assessing care needs and creating person-centred care plans and risk assessments. • Strong understanding of live-in care, domiciliary care or complex community care. • Sound judgement about safeguarding, risk and whether a proposed care arrangement is suitable. • Excellent written documentation and attention to detail. • A warm, confident manner with clients and families, including during sensitive conversations. • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage several new packages at different stages. • Able to work collaboratively across commercial and care teams while keeping client safety at the centre of decisions. • Confident using digital care systems, forms, email and messaging tools. • Willingness to travel for client assessments where required. Nice-to-Have • Experience in live-in care or onboarding new care clients. • Experience contributing to carer matching. • A Level 3 or Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care, completed or in progress. • Experience working in a private-pay care service. • Experience using Airtable or similar care management systems. • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Benefits 🎁 What You’ll Get From Us • The opportunity to shape how clients experience the start of live-in care. • A role with direct impact on client safety, carer matching and package quality. • Close collaboration with our Sales, Care Management and Quality Assurance teams. • Technology designed to reduce administration and support better care. • Ongoing training and development opportunities. • A culture where your ideas and feedback can improve how we work. 💯 Benefits • 🏡 Remote working, with field visits and periodic Hoxton, London office touchpoints • 🏖️ 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays • 💻 £250 home setup budget and Apple laptop • 📚 Personal development budget • 🚗 50% car insurance contribution • 🌮 Monthly company office lunches • 🎉 Quarterly socials and annual offsite • 💳 Company card for expenses • 👟 Gym in Shoreditch Exchange • ☕️ Onsite barista
